HAS JUSTICE finally been served with the arrest of Mark Zamora Dizon?

The suspect behind the series of killings which shocked Angeles City over the past few weeks was nabbed by authorities in San Fernando City in La Union. He was obviously eluding arrest, knowing that the police was closing in on his whereabouts.

Dizon apparently denied the allegations that he was behind the deaths of nine persons in Angeles City. His purported victims were all foreigners and their Filipina partners, all bearing gunshot wounds.

This modus has prompted the police to zero in on someone who had an “ugly” past with a foreign national… someone who may hold a grudge against a foreigner.

Dizon seemed to fit the description to a tee, after police learned of his bungled relationship with a foreigner’s daughter. Reports said his former girlfriend left for the States and married another man.

Was this enough to have triggered something in Dizon that he took the lives of nine innocent people? Maybe, maybe not. We cannot say what was on Dizon’s mind when he perpetrated the murders – that is, if he did commit the crimes.

Now that the suspect is in the hands of lawmen, can Angeles City residents and expatriates living in the city heave a sigh of relief? They can, if it was really Dizon who did the killings.

Let the wheels of the justice system turn on this one. Guilty or not, Dizon should have his day in court. If he is found guilty, then he will get what he deserves.
