CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The City Government, in coordination with the Department of Public Works and Highways, has started its campaign to remove structures that post imminent danger to public through the creation of “Task Force Illegal Structure”.

The project was launched in preparation for the upcoming rainy season.

This is also to prevent unnecessary accidents caused by illegal structures like banner stands, oversized streamers, tarpaulins and billboards which commonly fall during heavy rainfalls.  Desilting of city’s drainage system is also set.

The campaign, which started yesterday, aims to remove tall billboard stands located at the Dolores intersection. The Drainage system along the Jose Abad Santos Avenue was also inspected and repaired.

An inspection along strategic locations of the city is also scheduled, to check whether entrepreneurs follow the prescribed sizes on outdoor advertising materials.
