CAMP MACABULOS , Tarlac — After months of hiding, a notorious robber over the weekend was arrested by the local police in his residence in Barangay Balanoy, La Paz town, according to police reports.
In a report received by Tarlac Police Provincial Office director Sr. Supt. Amador V. Corpus, the suspect was identified as Jayson Alarilla Rodriguez, 23, of the place of incident.
Corpus said Rodriguez has been arrested by the virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Judge Alipio C. Yumul of the Regional Trial Court Branch 66 for two counts of robbery, with Criminal Case Nos. 4001 and 4002 with bail recommended amounting to P24,000 each.
According to Corpus, the suspect was responsible behind a robbery/hold-up incident on February 14, victimizing Brian Kelly, a US citizen residing in Barangay Balanoy, La Paz this province.

Kelly was on his way home from Clark on board a Motorstar 155 motorcycle (4539 AQ) being driven by Elmandy Arellano along the stretch of Concepcion-La Paz road when Rodriguez and a cohort flagged them down, announced a hold-up, and shot the victim.
The suspects took and carted away P2,000 from Kelly’s wallet and fled away. Cases of robbery/hold-up and frustrated homicide was referred at the Tarlac Prosecutor’s Office docketed under NPS Nr III-18-INV-10B-0154.
On December 05, 2009 a robbery case with CC Nr 4001 was filed against the suspect, who victimized Arnel Flores Policarpio at St. Jude, Barangay Alfonso, Concepcion, Tarlac. He forcibly took and carted away P20,000 in cash and a cell phone amounting to P9,600, which were placed inside the compartment of the victim’s motorcycle while parked at said place.
On December 11, 2009, another robbery case with CC Nr 4002 was filed for victimizing Juanita T. Policarpio of Barangay San Jose, Concepcion. He forcibly took and carted away P15,000 placed inside the compartment of her motorcycle while parked in front of the municipal building of Concepcion.
Prior to his arrest, the suspect went into hiding in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija. On July 21 2010, intel operatives of La Paz PS spotted the suspect in Barangay San Roque, La Paz and was arrested thereat.
The suspect is now detained at the provincial jail, Brgy. Dolores, this city.
