CAMP
OLIVAS -- An ex-member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU)
formerly stationed in Nueva Ecija had been tagged by the investigating panel
probing the June 2 Tetangco-Yap-Guinto triple murder case as the gunman in the
killings.
Police sources, who declined to be identified, told Central Luzon Daily that a
certain Allan Garcia, reportedly a gun-for-hire assassin, is being sought by
the Task Group TYG after he was pointed by some witnesses as responsible for the
killings of Rene Tetangco, businessman Florencio (Jack) Yap and aide Dennis
Guinto.
The victims’ bodies were found inside a green Ford Expedition (YAP-225) parked
abandoned at a vacant lot near Timog Park along Friendship Highway in Barangay
Pampang on June 3.
Garcia was reportedly employed as the “striker” of a prominent personality in
Angeles City before the triple murder case took place. His location could not
be ascertained by authorities.
Three prominent personalities have been invited by the Task Group to shed light
on the case -- Lyndon Pineda, Michael "Mikey" Lazatin and Chief
Inspector Floro Liwanag, assigned at the Angeles City Police Office.
Task Group TYG has also obtained a clear photo of Garcia, and members of the
local police and other units have been fanned out to different places of Central
Luzon to him.
During an exclusive interview, Liwanag admitted he knew Garcia, being their
former errand boy while staying in Timog Park. But he said it’s been a while
since he last saw Garcia until I was invited by the Pampanga Criminal
Investigation and Detection Team (CIDT) to shed light on the case.
Liwanag is supposed to give his statement Wednesday but sources said it was
postponed and rescheduled next week.
"I'm ready
to face investigation any time," he said.
Task Group TYG raided the residential compound of contractors Bernie Cruz and
Remy Chu on July 16, following information that the victims were killed in a
fenced compound near the place where Yap’s SUV was found.
The raiding team seized three unlicensed guns including two .22 caliber rifles
and a 16-gauge shotgun.
The Task Group, however, failed to locate the murder weapon described by
experts as an M16 rifle during the raid.
Tetangco, Yap and Guinto were on the way to the King's Poker Sports Club but
failed to reach the place as somebody had set them up, highly placed sources
said.
"The log calls particularly the last person Yap called that night
obviously set up the victims," the source further said, saying the victims
were taken to an unknown place before they were killed one after the other.
Task Group TYG is optimistic the case will be solved soon.
