TARLAC CITY —A 39 year-old paralyzed man was found hanging inside the comfort room of his home over the weekend, police reports said.

City police chief Supt. Florante Torres identified the victim as Johnny Lagman, married of Bgy San Pablo here.

The victim’s family said that prior to the incident, Lagman told his wife that he wanted to go to the comfort room. Moments later, his daughter Mary Rose entered the lavatory and saw her father suspended on the wooden structure of the bathroom’s ceiling, a nylon cord tied around his neck.

The victim’s family revealed that Lagman had been depressed ever since half of his body was paralyzed. He had been unable to work to support his family.

“Mula nong ma-paralyze siya, napuna naming na lagi siyang malungkot, aburido at tulala kaya kabado kami na may plano siyang kakaiba kaya nga lagi naming siyang binabantayan, di naming akalain na sa banyo niya gagawin ang pagpapakamatay,” the family lamented.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) led by Supt Ricardo Hidalgo, who conducted an investigation, there were no signs of foul play.

The cadaver of the victim was taken to the Lotus Funeral Parlor for autopsy.
