CAMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City — Tarlac Provincial Police Office director Sr. Supt. Amador V. Corpus has ordered the Paniqui police as well as Provincial Intelligence Branch to conduct a thorough investigation and manhunt to solve the two separate incidents of robbery that have been reported here, victimizing a municipal councilor recently.
Supt Roldan Luna, chief of police, identified victims as Councilor Godofredo Tangonan of Barangay Carino, 52, married; and Ma. Theresa Palapos, 42, single, a caretaker of Barangay Coral.
Roldan said three unidentified suspects on board a white Nissan Sentra (TIP-745) ransacked the house of the said councilor while he was outside his home.
A witness identified as Amado Leonardo, 61, neighbor of Tangonan said he noticed unusual sounds from the victim’s house, prompting him to verify it and found the gate left open by the perpetrators.
When Tangonan arrived, he discovered that his vault containing one Bull M5 Super 38 pistol gun worth P80,000, one Remington .45 caliber pistol worth P60,000, assorted jewelry amounting to P300,000 and other pertinent documents were missing.
Upon receipt of the report, the police immediately sent a flash message to all stations and conducted a dragnet operation.
The said vault was discovered empty by the Gerona police led by police chief Supt Salvador Destura in Bgy Parsolingan, Gerona town.
Meanwhile, another robbery happened the same day in Barangay Coral around 1:30 am.
According to the victim, the suspects were able to gain entry through an unlocked sliding window of her house.
Palapos said the suspects, armed with a knife, woke her up and took her bag containing P6,900; a Nokia cellular phone worth P4,000; jewelry amounting to P5,000; three pairs of rubber shoes, passports and a Green Card.
Thereafter, the suspects allegedly raped Palapos while her hands were tied with a blanket.  The suspects fled immediately to an unknown direction as they carted away the said items.

When suspects went out of her room, the victim asked the help of her neighbor, Kagawad Myrna Santos, who immediately reported the incident to the police.
