CAMP OLIVAS -- Central Luzon police seized over the weekend a hand gun and voluminous ammunition and quantitative amount of illegal drugs during separate raids in Bulacan, authorities here said yesterday.
Senior Supt. Marvin Bolabola, regional chief of the 3rd Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (3CIDU), said his team in that province seized an unlicensed .45 caliber pistol and gadgets from the residence of one Antonio Niebres Olajay, alias Tony in Barangay Matictic, Nozagaray, Bulacan.
The suspect, Bolabola however said, was not around when the raiding team led by Chief Inspector Julius Caezar Mana, provincial officer of the Bulacan Criminal Investigation and Detection Team, arrived at his place.
The search was conducted in an orderly manner in the presence of barangay officials and some occupants of the Olajay residence including his wife Sally and brother-in-law Engineer Edgar Correa.
An illegal possession of firearms case had been filed in court against Niebres, said Mana.
Over in City of San Jose del Monte, local police seized some 20 grams of shabu with a street value of P120,000 during a drug bust in front of a burger chain store over the weekend.
Supt. Baltazar Mamaril, regional chief of the Public Information Office (RPIO), identified the suspect as James Dipatua, a resident of Bagong Silang, Caloocan City.
Dipatua did not resist when accosted by undercover cops from the Bulacan Provincial Police Office (BPPO) in Barangay Tungko, CSJDM, after he handed the stuff to a poseur-buyer.
The suspect, police said, is included in the list of target personalities engaged in illegal drugs trafficking in CSJDM and nearby areas.
The seized items were taken to the Regional Crime Laboratory for confirmation, said Bulacan police director Senior Supt. Edgardo Tinio.
A violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied for filing in court against Dipatua who is presently detained at the CSJDM police station cell.
